Regular Care of gold-plated products:
Gold plating is a process whereby a thin layer of gold is applied to the surface of a different material.
Since it is a thin layer of gold, well care must be taken to extend its lifetime.
- Tips on caring of gold-plated items:
Preserve your gold-plated products from friction and scratching, as this will lead to rapid corrosion of the piece and loss of either its plating or shine. - For simple cleaning of everyday dust:
Polish it with a soft microfiber cloth. - For deep cleaning from sticky dirt:
Mix a few drops of dishwashing detergent diluted with warm water. Rinse gold-plated items in the solution, let them air dry, and then polish them with a soft cloth. - Avoid rubbing the gold-plated products with a brush or a hard cloth, as this will make its coating get easily corroded.
